Nassau County Commissioner of Police
The Safe Center is so grateful for the support of Commissioner Ryder and all of Nassau Country Police Department (NCPD). The issues of interpersonal violence are complex and cannot be addressed in isolation. Through the partnership and vision of Commissioner Ryder, NCPD and The Safe Center have been able to work collaboratively to better serve victims and survivors of interpersonal violence while holding those who do harm accountable. NCPD has also stationed the elite Special Victim Squad on-site at The Safe Center which has enhanced collaboration, allowed for cross training and better understanding of roles and dynamics, and created better outcomes for victims and survivors. Commissioner Ryder is accessible and a huge advocate for The Safe Center and the issues we respond to. We are very fortunate to feel like there is a true partnership with Commissioner Ryder to address and respond to issues of interpersonal violence and looking forward to continuing to work together.
